B-6 | Prognostic Impact of Procedural Complexity in Octogenarians Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

نویسندگان

چکیده

Octogenarians represent an increasingly large proportion of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). We aimed to assess the prognostic impact procedural complexity in this vulnerable population. Patients ≥80 years old who underwent PCI between 2012 and 2019 were selected from a large, single center registry (Mount Sinai Hospital, New York). In presence at least one criterion listed Figure, assigned complex (CPCI) group, whereas remaining subjects labeled as no-CPCI. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), composite mortality, myocardial infarction, or target vessel revascularization, within 1 year. secondary outcomes included bleeding Among 2,657 patients, 1387 (52%) had CPCI. CPCI more likely be men, smoker, have lower left ventricular ejection fraction present with stable angina. associated higher risk MACE (adjusted HR 1.37, 95% CI 1.06-1.77, p = 0.017) 1.64, 1.20-2.55, 0.002) year (Figure) than octogenarians, significantly rates 1-year. strategies are needed reduce octogenarians PCI.

Meta-Analysis of the Prognostic Impact of Anemia in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

Anemia is common in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and current guidelines fail to offer recommendations for its management. This review aims to examine the relation between baseline anemia and mortality, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), and major bleeding in patients undergoing PCI. We searched MEDLINE and EMBASE for studies that evaluated mortality and...
